According to tafsir.net, the Holy Quran Memorization International (HQMI) Organization organized the competition in cooperation with the Quran Memorization Institute of the Islamic Center of Bosnia.
The library of the Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque in the capital city hosted the Quranic event which was held with the participation of 53 male and female memorizers of the Quran.
Memorization of the entire Quran with interpretation of the 30th Juz (part) of the Quran, memorization of the entire Quran with observation of Tajweed principles, and memorization of 15 and 5 Juzes were the four categories of the competition.
Top participants were awarded in a ceremony attended by Hussein Samovich, representative of Bosnian scholars, Muhammad Ayat Mansour, representative of the HQMI, Nusrat Abdi begovich, director of the Education and Religious Guidance Office of the Islamic Center of Bosnia and a number of Quran activists of the region.
The Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque, built in the 16th century, is the largest historical mosque in Bosnia and Herzegovina which serves as the main congregational mosque of the country.
