TEHRAN (IQNA) - The position of Islam in Southeast Asia will be threatened if Muslims in this country become weak because of disunity, said Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Ashraf Wajdi Dusuki.
He said Malaysia is a country where Islam is the official religion thus
allowing the government to implement various Islamic projects.
"They include building international class institutions of higher
learning," he said at a breakfast function at Kampong Lubuk Batu, Bukit
Merbau.
The higher education institutions also benefit Muslims in this region who can
pursue their studies here.
The international Quran recitation competition held annually also put Malaysia
at the forefront in efforts to spread Islam, he added.
