TEHRAN (IQNA) – Israeli police officers with dogs on Saturday night stormed HaEmek hospital in Afula city, where hunger-striking journalist Mohamed al-Qeiq has been detained since his condition worsened.

Lawyer of the commission of detainees Hanan al-Khatib said this sudden police raid on the hospital confirmed the seriousness of Qeiq's health condition after he suffered in the evening bouts of severe pains and convulsions more than before.

Khatib added that this new health setback led to the closure of Qeiq's room, where doctors stayed there for a very long time.

Earlier on the same day, Qeiq's wife, Fayhaa Shalash, affirmed there was no deal yet with the Israeli side to solve the issue of her husband.

Shalash added that the family would not mind if Qeiq was transferred to the Palestinian hospital of Makassed in Holy Quds, but she stressed the need for setting a timeframe for ending her husband's administrative detention.
