26th Nat’l Quran Competition in Oman Slated for August

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The preliminary stage of the 26th edition of “Sultan Qaboos” national Quran memorization and Tajweed competition in Oman will be held in August.

According to Al-Watan newspaper, the "Sultan Qaboos” Supreme Center for Culture and Science announced that the competition will be organized in 6 categories.

Adults will compete in memorization of the entire Quran with observation of Tajweed principles, and memorization of 24, 18, and 12 Juzes (parts) of Quran with Tajweed.

26th Nat’l Quran Competition Planned in Oman

Participants below 15 years of age and children under 8 will respectively compete in the memorization of 6 and 2 Juzes with observation of Tajweed principles.

Those willing to take part in the national Quranic event should register at www.quran.gov.om by August 8.

The preliminary stage will start on August 14, according to the organizers.

Encouraging the youth to memorize the verses of the Quran, acting upon its teachings and raising a generation that adheres to the Quranic principles are among the objectives of the competition.
