55 Countries to Attend Quran Competitions in Kuwait

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Representatives of more than 55 countries will participate in the 7th edition of the international Quran memorization, recitation and Tajweed competitions in Kuwait.

According to robanews.com, this was announced by Farid Asad Imadi, deputy of Kuwait’s Ministry of Endowments and head of the Supreme Committee of "Kuwait’s Award” international Quran competitions in a press conference on April 10.

The press conference, which was held at Crown Plaza Hotel, was also attended by Yusuf Bughayth, head of the executive committee of the competitions, Nasir Al-Kindi, member of the committee, Fahd Al-Junfawi, head of the information committee and a number of the members of the committees related to the Quranic event.

The deputy also expressed satisfaction on the activities of the committees formed for this edition of the competitions and appreciated the efforts of the scientific committee of the seventh edition of Kuwait’s Award Quran contests.

Also speaking at the conference, Walid Al-Ammar, vice president of the Supreme Committee of the competitions said that the Quranic event shows how much Kuwaiti citizens pay attention to the Holy Quran and serving the Divine Book.

The 7th edition of the international Quran competitions will begin on April 13 and will continue until April 20.

Winners will be awarded in a ceremony to be attended by Sabah Ahmad Jabir Sabah, the emir of Kuwait.
