Sama Babayi received her award along with a certificate of honor at the closing ceremony of the women’s section on Thursday.
A number of officials including Jordan’s interior minister attended the ceremony.
Competitors from Bahrain, Qatar, Palestine, and Mauritania came second to fifth in this category respectively.
Babayi, who is from Tehran, had been selected as Iran’s representative after coming first in the memorization of the entire Quran category in the final stage the Islamic Republic of Iran’s 38th national Quran memorization contest.

The women’s section of the 11th international Quran competition of Jordan was held in the Arab country’s capital of Amman on April 9-14.
Mahmoud Babakhan will be Iran’s representative in the men’s category of Jordan’s Quranic event, which is slated for June.
The contest is annually organized by the Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry of Jordan with the participation of Quran memorizers and reciters from different countries.
