Mohammad Mahmoudi is competing for Iran in the memorization category while Ebrahim Fallah Tabasom Chehreh represents the country in recitation.
The 7th international Quran competition of Kuwait got underway in a ceremony in Kuwait city on Wednesday.
Some 100 contestants from 55 countries, including Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Palestine, the UAE, Tunisia, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Tajikistan, Mauritania and Sudan are attending the Quranic event.
Winners of different categories will be awarded in the closing ceremony planned to be attended by Kuwait’s Emir.
A number of programs have been planned for the participants on the sidelines of the contest, including visits to the country’s religious, historical and cultural sites.
