
According to the Astan (custodianship) of the hoy shrine, 30 young Pakistani Quran activists attended the session.
Hojat-ol-Islam Nasser Abbas, an official with the Astan, said the children and teenagers are members of Jamran Quranic Institute in Pakistan.
He added that the Astan has covered the expenses of their pilgrimage trip to Iraq.
Wisal Heydar, director of Jamran Quranic Institute, thanked the officials of the Astan for hosting the Pakistani Quran activists and said they were honored to participate in the Quranic session at the holy shrine.
He also noted that Jamran Quranic Institute, which is located in the city of Karachi, holds courses on memorization and recitation of the Quran.
He said some 500 children and teenagers have so far learned the entire Quran by heart at the institute.
