According to moscow.icro.ir website, the move is aimed at identifying and promoting valuable works in Islamic and Iranian studies.
Islamic teachings, history of Islam, Islam’s holy Prophet (PBUH), Quranic sciences, Rijal, Hadith, Tafseer (interpretation of the Quran), Fiqh (jurisprudence), and Islamic philosophy are some of the themes for works considered for the award in the Islamic studies area.
As for Iranian studies, the themes include Iran’s history, arts, architecture, and Persian language and literature.
The top works will be awarded in a ceremony to be held in October in the Russian capital.
The secretariat of Iran’s Book of the Year Award, International Iranology Foundation, Islamic Studies Foundation, and Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences will cooperate in holding the event.
