The first edition of the Shaikha Fatima Bint Mubarak International Holy Quran Competition kicked off in Dubai on November 6.
More than 70 female Quran memorizers from different countries have attended the event to compete for the top prize in the category of memorization of the entire Holy Quran.
The participants aged between nine and 25 years stand to win Dh250,000; Dh200,000; and Dh150,000 for the first, second and third prizes respectively.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has been represented by nine-year-old Hannaneh Khalalfi.
Khalafi, who is the youngest participant, answered the questions of the panel of judges on Wednesday morning and afternoon.
On Thursday, she took part in a sideline competition in Dubai on most beautiful recitation of the Quran and came third.
