In separate messages to Christian countries’ parliament speakers and lawmakers, Larijani cited verse 253 of the Holy Quran’s Surah al-Baqara "We gave Jesus, son of Mary, clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) and We supported him with the holy Spirit,” and felicitated the anniversary of the birth of Jesus Christ (AS) and the new year of 2017 to the Christian world parliamentarians and to all people around the globe who "follow the path of monotheism”.
In the messages, he underlined that the world more than ever needs the teachings of divine prophets, which promise peace, justice, and salvation for human society.
The Iranian parliament speaker went on to stress the need for dialogue among followers of different faiths in order to achieve the sublime objectives of great prophets like Jesus Christ (AS).
