TEHRAN (IQNA) – People in Bahrain in a rally held on Thursday condemned the Al Khalifa regime’s moves to normalize ties with the Zionist regime of Israel.

Bahrainis Set Zionist Regime Flag on Fire

During the rally staged in front of the house of the country’s top Shia leader, Sheikh Isa Qassim, they set the Zionit regime’s flag on fire and described a Zionist delegation’s visit to Bahrain a disgrace for the Al Khalifa regime, the Manama Post reported.

They said such moves are a betrayal of the Islamic Ummah and Arab nations’ principles and run counter to the Bahrainis’ will.

Carrying banners reading "Normalization of Ties (with the Zionist regime) Never” they voiced outrage at any step toward normalizing relation with Tel Aviv, stressing that the issue of Palestine is the main issue of the Muslim Ummah.

The protesters also chanted slogans like ‘Death to Israel’ and ‘Death to America’.

Recently, documents released by Transparency group WikiLeaks have shown that Israeli airlines have been given permission to use Bahrain’s airspace and Israeli tourists have been visiting the tiny Persian Gulf island country.

Bahraini people and figures have slammed such moves by the ruling regime aimed at normalizing ties with Tel Aviv.

On Saturday, Bahrain’s February 14 Youth Coalition described such moves as humiliating and treacherous adding that the Al Khalifa and Zionist regimes are the same in their use of violence and their enmity against freedom-seeking people.

Earlier, a number of Bahraini clerics had also warned against any attempt aimed at normalizing ties with the Tel Aviv regime.

They underlined that the occupying regime of Israel will never be a friend of the Bahraini nation and that there is no place for it in Bahrain.
