18 Quran memorizers and 18 Qaris from different provinces of the country took part in the Wednesday contest.
At the end of the event, the panel of judges decided that
Mohammad Bahrami from Lorestan province and Abdollah Mohammadnejad from Sistan
and Baluchestan province had the best performance in the categories of
recitation and memorization, respectively.
Hence, Bahrami and Mohammadnejad will compete for Iran in the international Quranic event in April.
The Iranian capital of Tehran will host the second edition of the international Holy Quran competition for the Muslim world’s visually-impaired.
30 to 40 countries are expected to send their representatives to the competition, which will be held on April 19-26 in the categories of memorization of the entire Quran and recitation of the Quran in Tahghigh style.
It will be organized concurrent with the annual
international Quran competition of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
