The program was organized by the city’s scholars’ council and attended by a number of local officials, oujdacity website reported.
At the event, 44 memorizes of Quran as well as top participants in a Quran and Hadiths memorization competition were honored.
The ceremony was aimed at encouraging the citizens, especially women, to get involved in Quranic activities and promoting the Quranic culture in society.
According to the report, there are 79 Quranic centers active in Berkane.
More than 2700 boys and girls take Quranic lessons in these centers, which have a total of 98 Quran instructors, 66 women and 32 men.
