TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 7th edition of a national Quran competition in the US will be held in Chicago on December 27-29.

Only US citizens or those holding US Green Card can compete at the Quranic event.

Registration for the contest opened in August and closed on December 10.

The categories of the competition, which will be held separately for men and women, include memorization of the Holy Quran at different levels.

There are separate committees of judges for male and female participants.

Winners will be announced at the MAS-ICNA Convention on Friday, December 29.

The competition will be organized during the ​16th annual American Muslims convention, known as the MAS-ICNA Convention, in Chicago, Illinois, according to masicna.com website.

The motto of this year’s gathering is “Shaping the Future Through Faith and Vision”.

The convention, according to its organizers, is focused on rejuvenating the souls of Muslims through the love of Islam and consequently revitalize the spirit of Muslims in these inauspicious times. The convention is an experience which unites Muslims all over the world under one roof to affirm their faith and their role in the domestic and global society.

The Annual MAS-ICNA Convention is one of the largest and most diverse Islamic conventions in North America, organized by the Muslim American Society (MAS) and Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA).

The convention takes place in Chicago every December during the winter holiday season.
