Over 1200 Papers Submitted to Int’l Congress on Shia Islam’s Role in Development of Sciences

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The secretariat of an international congress on the role of Shia Islam in the development of sciences has received more than 1200 papers, an official said.

 

 

Hojat-ol-Islam Akbar Mahmoudi, the event’s scientific deputy, told IQNA that the congress will be held at the Imam Kadhim (AS) Seminary School in the holy city of Qom on May 10-11.

According to the official, the scholarly gathering is aimed at reviewing the role of Shia leaders, scholars and scientists in the development of sciences.

He said the call for papers was issued in November 2016 and by the end of the deadline, 1209 papers were submitted to the secretariat.

He added that 15 groups of experts reviewed the papers and selected 426 of them to be printed.
