Quran Reading Sessions Planned in Pakistan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A series of Quran reading sessions are planned to be held in Pakistan with the participation on internationally known Quran reciters from Iran and some other countries.

 

According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, the Iranian Cultural Center in Islamabad and Pakistan’s Sawt-ul-Qurra Organization will organize the sessions.

Seyyed Sedaqat Ali, head of the organizationand a famous Pakistani Qari, discussed the plan in a meeting with Mohammadreza Kaka, the Iranian cultural representative in Pakistan.

Development of mutual cooperation, particularly in Quranic and religious fields, was the main theme of the discussion.

The Pakistani official said that promoting the Quranic relations between the two countries would lead to development of the Quranic culture and Muslims unity.

He also highlighted the importance of holding joint annual Quran reading sessions with the participation of top Iranian and Pakistani Qaris.

One of the Quran reading sessions has been planned to be held in October with the participation of eminent Qaris from Iran, Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia and Bangladesh, he said.

Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Sialkot, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Multan and Quetta are among the cities that will host the Quranic programs.

The Iranian official, for his part, described promotion of Quranic activities in Iran as one of the major achievements of the Islamic Revolution and said that the country’s successes in other fields have been achieved thanks to paying attention to the Quranic teachings.

He noted that the international Quran competition in Iran has become a major Quranic event in the world.

Quran is the main factor in Muslim world unity and through acting upon the Quranic teachings, Muslims can stand against their enemies, he added.
