Resistance Scholars Condemn Assassination of General Soleimani
The meeting was held on Saturday, with the theme of “Iraq’s Unity and Sovereignty; Victory for Palestine and the Muslim Ummah”.
The participants called on the international community to counter Washington’s aggressive policies in the region.
They also rejected the US-proposed so-called “deal of the century” plan for the Middle East as a “satanic plot” to undermine the rights of the Palestinian people and condemned attempts by some regional countries to normalize ties with the Zionist regime of Israel.
General Soleimani, al-Muhandis, who was the deputy commander of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), and a number of their entourage were killed in the strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3.
The Pentagon said in a statement that US President Donald Trump had ordered the US military to assassinate the top Iranian commander.
