TEHRAN (IQNA) – Tens of thousands of Palestinian worshippers took part in Fajr (early morning) prayers at al-Aqsa Mosque on Friday morning despite tight security measures taken by the Israeli occupation regime.

According to Palestine-info website, Palestinians also attended prayers in 200 other mosques in Jerusalem al-Quds and elsewhere in occupied West Bank this morning.

Their massive presence was in response to a call for participation in congregational morning prayers on Friday morning as part of the Fajr Azim (great dawn) campaign.

The campaign, which began a few weeks ago, is aimed at defending al-Aqsa and other Palestinian sanctities in the face of the Zionist regime’s aggressions and plots.

Last weeks, Zionist forces attacked worshippers who had attended the morning prayers at the mosque. During the attacks, a number of Palestinians were injured and some of them detained by the Zionist forces.
