Quran Copies Being Distributed in Hospitals in Malaysia’s Johor
PPRNNJ secretary Roziah Kamal said this was part of their efforts to promote the Quran recital program to Muslim frontliners, hospital visitors and patients.
“The books are donated by the public from all over the country to be distributed to this group in the state.
“We initially aimed to collect 20,000 copies but received overwhelming response from the public, ” she said at KPJ Puteri Specialist Hospital here.
Roziah said PPRNNJ had previously distributed 2,000 copies to the Johor Health Department and was also planning to distribute to Gleneagles Hospital and Columbia Asia Hospital soon.
On the program, she said PPRNNJ donated 800 copies to KPJ Puteri Specialist Hospital (southern region) to be used by the hospital frontliners and visitors.
“We want the hospitals to create their own Quran corner in their surau, especially during Ramadan.
Meanwhile, KPJ Puteri Specialist Hospital chief executive officer Haliza Khalid said the donations were in line with the hospital’s annual Ramadan programme.
“Apart from Quran recitation, we also conduct the Khatam al-Quran (completing the Quran) program,” she said.
To date, more than 17,000 copies of the Quran have been distributed to frontliners in the state.
