Online Quran Recitation Campaign in India

TEHRAN (IQNA) – An international Quran recitation campaign in India is planned be held online starting on the 10th of the holy month of Ramadan.

 

It is the 30th edition of the Quranic event which will be held online due to the spread of coronavirus.

Twenty-one Quran reciters from different parts of the world, including the holy cities of Medina and Najaf, Al-Azhar University in Cairo, and countries like Indonesia, Nigeria, Britain, Iran and Afghanistan will participate at the campaign.

They will simultaneously recite the Holy Quran’s verses from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The Quran recitations will be broadcast live on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube.

The international Quran recitation campaign will continue until the 28th of the holy month.

Ramadan is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.

They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
