Iraqi Qari, Memorizer Kamal Muhammad Dies of Coronavirus

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Kamal Muhammad, an Iraqi singer who gave up singing to become a Quran reciter, died of the coronavirus.

 

Born in 1942, Kamal began his signing career in 1971 and released three albums.

He also performed in concerts in Syria, Egypt and other Arab countries.

During his successful years as a singer, he once drew the anger of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein after refusing to sing a song for him.

Kamal decided to renounce signing after 30 years to become a Qari.

He recited the Quran beautifully and attended many Quranic programs and events.

He was also a memorizer of the entire Quran.
