Unity against World Hegemony Key to Resolution of Palestinian Issue: Hezbollah
Addressing a conference titled “Unity against Normalization”, Sheikh Qassem said Arab nations should be in the Axis of Resistance whose main objective is to counter the project of the US-Israeli axis and liberate al-Quds and Palestine from Israeli occupation.
He deplored some Arab states’ move to normalize ties with the Zionist regime, describing it as treason to the religion, Arab identity and Palestine.
It means supporting the Zionist regime’s occupation and expansionism and undermining the cause of Palestine, he said.
Sheikh Qassem also said that the Palestinian nation thwarted the so-called “deal of the century” scheme and it is now other Arab nations’ turn to foil the normalization plot.
Other speakers on the first day of the conference included Sheikh Akrama Sabri, the imam of al-Aqsa, Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh and Abu Ahmad Fuad, the secretary-general of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
Some 500 Arab and Muslim personalities are taking part in the two-day conference, which is being held virtually.
Palestinians have called on Arab and Muslim nations to end normalization of ties with Israel that aims to demolish the historical Palestinian cause.
So far, a number of Arab states have normalized their ties with Israel, including the UAE and Bahrain. The move has sparked harsh criticism among the Muslim nations.
Palestinians stress they strongly refuse to recognize Israel and reject the normalization of ties with the Tel Aviv regime by certain countries.
They say resistance is ongoing and no deal can bring peace to Israel at the expense of Palestinians.
