The “Al-Hafezoun” Quran contest has been organized by the Arab country’s Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places Ministry, according to al-Mamlaka TV.
The ministry announced that the preliminary and second rounds of the Quranic event have concluded and 113 contenders have made it to the finals.
It noted that the competition is held in the category of Quran memorization at different levels.
Twenty-nine participants will compete in the final round of memorization of the entire Quran, 34 in memorization of 20 Juzes (parts) of the Quran and 50 in memorization of 10 Juzes, it noted.
The finalists are from different parts of the country, the ministry said.
It added that the final round will be held while observing all the health protocols in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The holy month of Ramadan, the ninth month in the lunar Hijri calendar, will start on April 13.
