Over 100 Quranic Sessions Held for‌ Iraqi Women in Ramadan

TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Astan (custodianship) of Hazrat Abbas (AS) holy shrine in Karbala, Iraq, organized more than 100 Quran recitation sessions for women during the holy month of Ramadan.

 

According to Al-Kafeel website, the Women Quran Teaching Center affiliated to the Astan’s Islamic Teachings Affairs Section announced that the center in the holy city of Najaf and its branches in different provinces of Iraq hosted the in-person Quranic sessions while observing the health protocols.

Minar Al-Jabouri, director of the center, said that benefiting the most from the holy month’s virtues was the main objective of the Quranic programs.

He added that the sessions were organized under the supervision of women Quran experts and Qaris selected by the center.

Quran interpretation and clarification of Quranic concepts as well as Islamic injunctions, Quran competitions, speeches on jurisprudential issues and teaching Quran recitation were also included in the programs.

Quranic activities have significantly developed in Iraq since the 2003 overthrow of former dictator Saddam Hussein.

There has been a growing trend of Quranic programs such as competitions, recitation sessions and educational programs held in the country in recent years.
