TEHRAN (IQNA) – The Israeli occupation forces shot dead Mohammed Daadas, 13, on Friday in the east of Nablus, occupied West Bank.

Mohammad was shot while he was protesting against illegal Israeli settlements in the village of Beit Dajan, east of Nablus. He succumbed to the shot that had hit his stomach and passed away in a local hospital on Friday, Alahed reported.

Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem reacted to the crime, saying the movement is mourning the martyrdom of the 13-year-old Mohammed.

“The martyrdom of this kid at the hands of occupiers is a war crime and continuation of terrorist measures adopted by Zionists against the Palestinian nation,” he said.

“The blood of this martyr will turn into a new blood in the veins of our nation’s revolution; a revolution that will not diminish until attaining full freedom from occupiers, liberating holy sites, and returning of the nation to its land.”

The new crime comes as the Israeli regime announced plans to build 3,000 more illegal settlements in the West Bank despite criticism from the international community.

Israel seized the West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem in the 1967 Middle East war and hardline Israelis, including Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, view Palestinian land in the West Bank as a heartland of Jewish history. Hundreds of thousands of Israelis have since moved into settlements that are regarded illegal under international law.

Bennett has ruled out formal peace talks with the Palestinian Authority, saying he prefers to focus on economic improvements.
