Islamic Unity Guarantees Security, Victory over Enemies, Ansarullah Official Says
Unity among Islamic schools of thought is a priority that has been emphasized by the Holy Quran, the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS), Sayed Sadiq al-Sharafi told IQNA in an interview.
He said discord turns the Muslim community into a weak society that can be exploited by the enemies.
Unity guarantees security for Muslims and ability to counter enemies’ plots, the Yemeni official stated.
He said Muslims should unite around key issues in the Islamic Ummah, including the issue of Palestine.
They should unitedly support and defend the oppressed anywhere in the world, al-Sharafi stressed.
He said there are prerequisites for unity such as gaining correct knowledge about Islam in order to avoid distorting the religion and also having insight.
As for the major challenges to Islamic unity, he said the biggest threat is discord and preferring personal interests to the interests of the Islamic Ummah.
Another danger is not recognizing the enemy, which would lead to undermining the security and coherence in the Ummah and could create Fitnas (seditions), al-Sharafi added.
He further stressed the need for enhancement of relations among Islamic centers in the world, saying that, for example, Egypt’s al-Azhar and Iran’s Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought can forge closer ties to promote Muslim unity.
The Ansarullah official added that Muslim scholars should also have contacts with one another and work together for the sake of Islamic unity.
Elsewhere in his remarks, al-Sharafi said Muslim world media also need to promote unity by producing programs, films and TV series, as well as forums and dialogues.
The media ought to reveal the true face of the enemies, especially the world arrogance and the Zionists and shed light on the adversaries’ plots against Muslims, he went on to say.
Al-Sharafi also hailed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s role in supporting and promoting unity in the Muslim world.
