Khatm-e Quran Ceremony Held in Madagascar to Commemorate Martyr Soleimani

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Khatm-e Quran (reading the Quran from the beginning to the end) ceremony was held in Madagascar to commemorate Lt. General Qassem Soleimani and his companions.

A number of Islamic seminary students and scholars attended the event, organized at Tahura Center in the African country’s capital, Antananarivo.

It also commemorated two of the center’s preachers, late Sheikh Abdul Karim and late Sheikh Adam.

A message from Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Javad Zarean, the international deputy of the Ahl-ul-Bayt (AS) Wolrd Assembly, was also read out at the ceremony.

In his message, Hojat-ol-Islam Zarean hailed Martyr Soleimani and his companions as heroes of the Muslim world.

He also paid tribute to Sheikh Abdul Karim and Sheikh Adam who spent many years of their life in promoting Islam.

General Soleimani, who was the commander of the IRGC Quds Force, Iraqi Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) Deputy Commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, and a number of their entourage were killed in a strike by American drones near Baghdad International Airport in the early hours of January 3, 2020.

The White House and the Pentagon claimed responsibility for the assassinations, saying the attack was carried out at the direction of then US president Donald Trump.
