TEHRAN (IQNA) – According to the head of Iran’s 38th International Quran Competition, the process of recording the performances of female participants for the final stage of the event concluded on Sunday.

Hamid Majidimehr said that the 17th and last contestant concluded her recording on Sunday, noting that the recorded files will be assessed by the panel of arbiters on March 4.

The final stage of the contest is slated to be held virtually from February 28 to March 5 along with the 5th international Quran contest for the visually-impaired and the 7th international Quran competition for school students, and the international Quran contest for women will be held on the same dates.

The process for recording the male contestants kicks off today with the participation of Iranian representative offices, embassies, cultural offices, Al-Mustafa University branches, and major Islamic and Quranic institutes, the official added, noting that the assessment will begin on March for four days.

He noted due to some problems, a number of contestants had traveled to their neighboring states to do the recording.

Efforts are underway to broadcast the final stage live from 10 foreign TV networks and hence the event’s host will speak Arabic, he added.

Winners will be announced on Eid al-Mab’ath (day of selection of Prophet Muhammad by God for guidance).

Iran’s Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization annually organizes the international Quranic event with the participation of Quran activists from various countries.
