A number of religious and Quranic figures attended the ceremony, according to Qafqn.org website.

Fatima al-Dhahabi, who is 8 years old, has recently managed to learn the entire Quran by heart.

Addressing the ceremony, director general of the society Hussein al-Assaf noted that there have been some boys and girls under the age of ten who have previously memorized the Quran at the society’s classes but al-Dhahabi is the first one making the accomplishment at eight.

He also highlighted the services and accomplishments of the society and thanked Jordanians for their trust and all of those who have helped it in its successful activities.

The Quran Memorizers Society of Jordan was established in 1990. It is affiliated to the Arab country’s Awqaf and Holy Islamic Affairs Ministry.

Sheikh Nadhal al-Ibadi currently is the president of the society.
