Graduation Ceremonies Held for 144 Quran Memorizers in Turkey
TEHRAN (IQNA) – A total of 144 Quran memorizers were honored in two separate ceremonies held for men and women in Ankara, Turkey, on Tuesday.
They received certificates of graduating from Quran memorization courses and learning the entire Quran by heart, TRT Arabic reported
Head of the country’s Religious Affairs Directorate (Diyanet) Ali Erbas attended the ceremonies.
In an address, he said when one memorizes the Quran, he or she is moving on the path of the Quran while angels surround them.
He added that the Quran has been revealed to guide humanity from darkness to light.
Erbas noted no other book in the world has been memorized by millions of people.
He went on to say that some 200,000 men and women have committed the entire Quran to memory and received Quran memorization certificates.
According to Diyanet, more than 11,700 people in Turkey memorized the Quran in 2021.
