According to Hojat-ol-Islam Saeed Karami, the cultural and social affairs director of the office of Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s representative in universities, the office is going to implement the plan in cooperation with the Council for Coordination of Quran and Etrat Activities in Universities.

He said it will help develop Quran memorization among university professors, students and staff as well as their family members.

The cleric added that in the plan, universities across the country will hold separate Quran memorization classes for professors, students, staff and family members.

The classes will be organized online or in-person or both according to the conditions, he stated.

Those who manage to memorize five, ten, twenty or thirty Juzes (parts) of the Quran will receive privileges and grants after passing exams organized by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, he noted.

The Holy Quran is the only religious Scripture that is memorized by its followers.

Innumerable persons in every Muslim community have memorized the Quran since the first day it was revealed.

The Quran has 30 Juzes (parts), 114 Surahs (chapters) and 6,236 verses.
