TEHRAN (IQNA) – In a ceremony on Sunday, 12 young Quran memorizers received their certifications from local authorities in Brunei’s Belait District.

The RPN Kampong Pandan Mosque Takmir Committee organized a certificate presentation ceremony to commemorate 12 youths from the Belait District who completed the third edition of the Belait District Tahfiz Al-Quran Memorization Program at the mosque.

Belait District Mosque Affairs Officer Akup bin Haji Lamat, the guest of honor, was welcomed at the mosque by RPN Kampong Pandan Mosque Affairs Officer Abdul Qayyum bin Haji Aminuddin.

Abdul Qayyum said the 12 participating youth, aged 10 to 15, memorized 30 Juzes from 2020 to 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony was only held recently with the lifting of restrictions, to acknowledge and appreciate the efforts made by the youth in perfecting their knowledge and recitation of the Quran.

Meanwhile, Akup hoped that they will continue to develop and expand their knowledge of Islam, as well as be role models for other youth.

The ceremony also saw the participating youth in the program reciting verses of the Quran on stage to test the knowledge they had gained throughout the program.

This was followed with the guest of honour handing over the certificates.
