TEHRAN (IQNA) – Thousands of Palestinians said the Fajr (morning) congregational prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds on Friday.

Thousands of Palestinians Attend Fajr Prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque

They came from different parts of Palestine and gathered at different parts of the holy site for Fajr prayers this morning, AL-Ray website reported.

This is part of a campaign named “Sound of Great Fajr” launched by Palestinians in protest at the Israeli regime’s moves against Muslim sanctities in Al-Quds and elsewhere in Palestine.

In this campaign, people from across Palestine go to Al-Quds to say Fajr prayers at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Israeli regime forces and Zionist settlers have increasingly violated the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque in recent months.

Hardline Israeli officials and settlers regularly storm the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the occupied city, a provocative move that infuriates Palestinians.

Such mass settler break-ins almost always take place at the behest of Tel Aviv-backed temple groups and under the auspices of the Israeli police in al-Quds.

Moreover, Israel’s illegal excavation work at Al-Aqsa Mosque has damaged the mosque’s structure.

Israel captured East Jerusalem al-Quds, where Al-Aqsa Mosque is located, during the Six-Day War in 1967 in a move never recognized by the international community.
