Iran Nat’l Quran Contest: Draw Held for Finals

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A draw ceremony was held for the final round of Iran’s 45th national Quran competition in the remaining categories.

The Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization announced the results of the draw for contenders in the categories of Quran recitation, Tarteel, memorization of the entire Quran and memorization of 20 Juzes (parts) of the Quran in the men and women sections.

A total of 96 men and 82 women will vie for the top prizes in the four categories, which will be held in the southwestern province of Khuzestan on January 12-18.

The final stage in the prayer recitation, Adhan (call to prayer) and choral recitation categories of the competition was held in the northern city of Qazvin in mid-December.

It is the first time some categories were held separately in the annual event.  

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s National Quran Competition is annually held by the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization with the participation of top Quran activists from across the country.

It is aimed at discovering Quranic talents and promoting Quranic activities in society.
