TEHRAN (IQNA) – As worldwide condemnation of Quran burning in Sweden continues, a senior Russian cleric described the move as a Satanic act.

Far-right politician Rasmus Paludan

Far-right politician Rasmus Paludan, the leader of the Stram Kurs (Hard Line) Party, under the protection of police and with permission from the government, burned a copy of the Quran outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm on Saturday.

People, scholars and officials across the Muslim world have strongly denounced the sacrilegious move.

In Russia, Deputy Mufti Sheikh Roshan Abbasov said it was a Satanic act, stressing that Swedish authorities must decisively react to it.

He added that such actions indicate the undignified mindset of extremists in Sweden and their detachment from spirituality.

The president of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, also slammed the burning of a copy of the Quran, calling the perpetrators ‘Satanists’.

“In Stockholm, Sweden, some scum, who is also the leader of a Danish Satanist party, burned a holy Quran in front of the Turkish embassy. This spawn of hell was a protest to official Ankara, which is voting against Sweden joining NATO.

“Indeed, only the devil-worshippers, the most scumbag scoundrels, would make an attempt on sacred values and call it a sign of protest. The action was reportedly approved by the authorities in Stockholm, but I firmly believe that this despicable act was not just approved, but, moreover, initiated and paid for by political forces. Otherwise, such a blatantly provocative act would have never been approved,” he wrote in his official Telegram channel.

“In any case, everyone will reap exactly what he sowed and all involved in this disgusting stunt brought eternal damnation on themselves. They will realize it one day, but it will be too late. Burn in hell, you devils,” he added.
