Quranic Circles for Women Continue in Three Governorates of Egypt
The governorates of Cairo, Sharqia and Alexandria continue to host the Quranic events, according to the Tahya Misr website.
They are attended by female Quran reciters and memorizers, preachers and scholars, it said.
They are organized as part of the ministry’s efforts to promote Quranic activities and help women to play a greater role in society.
They also help to enhance the understanding of the Quranic concepts in society.
Female preachers attending the Quranic programs have previously been trained in special sessions organized by the Awqaf ministry and are active in promotion of moderate thought in different cities of Egypt.
In recent month, the Awqaf ministry has organized various Quranic programs like recitation sessions, Khatm Quran (reading the entire Holy Book), and Quranic events for women, prayer leaders, and other groups.
It has also established new Quranic centers named after prominent contemporary qaris.
