An extraordinary meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC) on Gaza in Tehran

Delivering a speech at an extraordinary meeting of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC) on Gaza, he said no clear conscience can remain silent in the face of the heinous crimes being committed by the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip and their effects on security in the region and the world.

The conference opened at the Azadi Hotel in Tehran on Wednesday morning with the participation of senior parliamentary officials from the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The participants will discuss the ongoing Israeli regime attacks on the besieged Palestinian enclave.

In his opening address, Ghalibaf said the issue of Palestine and Israel’s 75-year occupation of Palestinian land and oppression of its people is not just an issue between the fake Zionist regime and Palestine but it is an affront to entire humanity.

He said for over seven decades, the Palestinian nation has been the victim of colonial policies and denied its basic rights, including the right to self-determination.

He slammed the continuation of Israeli crimes, including genocide and ethnic cleansing, in Palestine with the support of the West.

The Zionist regime has been protected by the West against any accountability and punishment for its crimes, he deplored.

The Iranian speaker referred to the West’s ideological and value system as the root of the fake Zionist regime’s formation and said since the beginning, the regime has employed a policy of discrimination and oppression against the people of Palestine.
