Seven Contenders Showcase Talents in Memorization on Third Day of Dubai Int’l Quran Contest

IQNA – The 27th edition of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA), which stared earlier this week, continues at the headquarters of the Culture and Science Symposium in the Al Mamzar area in the UAE city.

Seven contenders showcased their Quranic talents on the third day of the contest.

The venue of the competition was filled with an audience of expatriate members supporting their countries’ contestants, in the presence of members of the award’s organizing committee and a number of officials and members of the consular corps in the country.

Amid followers’ praise of the contestants’ outstanding levels and their competition in memorization, intonation, and recitation, contestants Suwaid bin Abdel Fattah from the Republic of the Comoros, Mohammed Bu Hasun from France, Hussein Toure from the Ivory Coast, Hamad Abdullah Al-Jumaili from Qatar, Shuaib Mohammed Shafi’i from Sweden, Mohammed K. Razan from Sri Lanka, and Omar Barzoshi from Albania, competed in Hafs Narration on the authority of Asim before the jury of DIHQA.

Dr. Nassif Ibrahim Abdullah Al-Azhari, Professor of Interpretation and Quranic Sciences at Imam Al-Shafi’i College in the Comoros, praised the level of the contestants, the closeness of their levels, and their ability to memorize and perform strongly, which indicates the strength and seriousness of the international competition and the keenness of those in charge of it to include capable and distinguished memorizers of the Quran to appear before the international arbitration committee.

Al-Azhari said he has been following the activities of the competition since he was a student at Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in Egypt, so it is God’s will that he accompanies his nephew participating in the competition that encourages young people to memorize the Book of God. He added that the competition has become the focus of their attention around the world, and each of them wished that he had the honor of participating in it due to its excellence, good reception, distinguished organization, and generous hospitality. He extended his thanks to those in charge of this blessed competition and prayed to God for more success and excellence in serving and preserving the Book of God Almighty.

Mostafa Farghaly, Public Relations at the Australian Embassy, said that he is a follower of the Dubai International Holy Quran Award competitions adding that the competition is one of the largest and strongest Holy Quran competitions at the international and local levels and witnesses great competition and high levels of memorization and performance for the contestants. This is due to the great efforts made by those in charge of the competition, which receives sponsorship of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, patron and founder of the award.
