Morocco’s Fes Hosting Prophetic Hadiths Competition

IQNA – The final round of a competition on Prophetic Hadiths is underway in the city of Fes, Morocco.

Starting on Friday, it has been organized by the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema. 

There are 122 contenders, including 20, in the contest, competing virtually, according to Maroc Hebdo website.

It features memorization and understanding a total of 90 Hadiths.

The preliminary round had been held in July and August with the cooperation of the foundation’s branches in 48 African countries.

The panel of judges comprises experts from Morocco and a number of other African countries.

The competition is aimed at promoting the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema, according to its founders, is an Islamic religious institution seeking to prevent radicalization and fight sectarianism within Islam.

The foundation’s goal is to unite and coordinate the efforts of Muslim theologians from Morocco and other African countries to consolidate Islamic values of tolerance and critical exploration of religious texts.

It also aims to facilitate intellectual, scientific and cultural action by bringing together Muslim theologians from around the world to encourage the establishment of religious, scientific and cultural centers and working towards the revitalization of a common African, Islamic cultural heritage.
