It has rented rooms in six hotels in Damascus near the holy shrine of Hazrat Zeynab (AS) for this purpose, the website of the Astan reported.

The Astan has set up a committee to help the Lebanese refugees following a call by top Iraqi cleric Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali al-Sistani following the intensification of terrorist attacks by the Israeli regime against Lebanon.

The Astan has sent medical teams and provided various services for the refugees.

It has also welcomed some of the Lebanese refugees in its pilgrim’s houses in Iraqi holy cities.

Haj Muhammad Abu Dakka, the head of the committee in Syria, said it has been serving those displaced by the Israeli attacks for nearly a month.

More than 2,460 Lebanese people have been killed since last October, when the regime intensified its deadly aggression against the country.
