IQNA – The Leader of the Islamic Revolution says the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrants for Israeli officials over their war crimes in Gaza is not enough.

“Bombing people’s homes is not a victory … it is a war crime,” Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said in parts of his speech on Monday while addressing hundreds of Basij voluntary forces in Tehran, referring to the relentless Israeli attacks against residential areas in the besieged Gaza Strip and Lebanon.

He pointed to the ICC’s recent arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former minister of military affairs Yoav Gallant, saying, “Arrest warrants for them have been issued; this is not enough … The death sentence for Netanyahu and criminal heads of the regime should be issued.”

The ICC judges said on Thursday that there were “reasonable grounds” to believe Netanyahu and Gallant “intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival.”

The court also said the men bore “criminal responsibility” for war crimes and crimes against humanity during the bloody onslaught on Gaza.

The Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, which began in October last year, has killed more than 44,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured many more.

The enemy has not won its wars on Gaza and Lebanon, and it will never be able to do so, Ayatollah Khamenei asserted.
