Egypt’s Mufti Emphasizes Religious, Moral Responsibility to Support Palestine

IQNA – The Grand Mufti of Egypt underline Muslim responsibility regarding the issue of Palestine.

“Our duty regarding the issue of Palestine is not just sympathizing (with Palestinians) but it a religious, moral and historical responsibility,” Nazir Mohamed Ayyad said.

In a statement issued on the occasion of International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, he said all Muslims should defend Palestinians’ rights.

The issue of Palestine is not just about a people who are striving for their freedom but it symbolizes the Arab and Muslim Ummah’s dignity and honor.

Muslims should help Palestine with all available political, economic and media means, he stressed.

The human conscience today faces a moral and historical responsibility at as the people of Palestine are suffering from the oppression of the occupiers, Ayyad stated.

He added that the issue of Palestine remains relevant and will not be forgotten.

He also prayed that God will help the Palestinian people and grant them patience and steadfastness and bring about the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
