IQNA – The contests in the final stage of Iran’s 47th National Quran Competition are very close, making it difficult to predict the winners, a contender said.

Abuzar Karami is competing in the category of memorization of the entire Quran in Iran’s 47th National Quran Competition

Abuzar Karami, who is competing in the category of memorization of the entire Quran, told IQNA in an interview that has taken part in the contest every year since 2005 when he was 16.

The level of the competitions has improved year after year and this year the scores are very close, he stated.

He said new figures are present in this year’s event who are very motivated and determined.

Almost half of the contenders performing in the finals in memorization of the entire Quran category have performed flawlessly, he noted.

In the past editions, one could easily predict a contender’s place in the rankings after seeing his performance, but it is not the case this year, Karami said.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the memorizer praised the officials of the northwestern city of Tabriz for optimally hosting the final stage.

He also said memorizing the Quran should not be for taking part in competitions only but one should take the Quranic path in order to reach calm and peace in life.
