Over 60,000 Students Participate in Quran Circles Daily at Prophet’s Mosque

IQNA – More than 60,000 male and female students are attending daily Quran memorization circles (Halaqat) and various Islamic studies (Mutun) at the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina.

 

Students from over 160 nations, speaking 16 different languages, benefit from these sessions, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Friday.

The youngest participant is 4.5 years old, while the oldest is 91.

According to the report, statistics for 2024 show that the mosque hosted over 1,900 daily Quran memorization and Islamic studies sessions, along with an additional 900 virtual lessons.

The sessions are led by a team of more than 1,300 male and female teachers. These circles also utilize remote learning technologies to enable participation from students worldwide.

Many Muslims visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina for prayer and to visit Rawdah after undertaking Umrah at Macca’s Grand Mosque. In 2023, more than 280 million worshippers prayed at the Prophet’s Mosque.
