The Anti-Poverty Forum Malta (APF) condemned the incident, describing it as deeply troubling and wholly unacceptable. In its official statement, the APF voiced apprehension about the increasing trend of hateful rhetoric targeting the Muslim community on social media platforms, Malta’s Newsbook reported on Monday.
According to the APF, while Malta upholds freedom of expression, this fundamental right should never be misused to incite hostility or cause harm. The organization also underscored its solidarity with Malta's Muslim community and urged authorities to respond promptly and decisively within the boundaries of the law.
The forum further highlighted the necessity of removing harmful online content that spreads hatred, emphasizing the importance of curbing such messages to prevent further division.
