IQNA – The funeral of Martyr Sayed Hassan Nasrallah is not just a passing event, but a testimony to the fact that heroes do not perish but become immortal figures and live on in people’s memories.

The funeral of Martyr Sayed Hassan Nasrallah and Sayed Hashem Safieddine is held in Lebanon on February 23, 2025.

This is according to Ilhami al-Maliji who wrote an article on the funeral of the former secretary general of Hezbollah, which is going to ta place in Lebanon on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

Following are excerpts from the article:

Sayed Hassan Nasrallah was not only a resistance commander and a political leader but the he was the embodiment of the Ummah’s spirit, the beating heart of the people against tyranny, and the sword drawn against oppression and occupation.

He was the embodiment of faith among storms of doubt and skepticism, and it was his will that did not falter in the face of the toughest challenges, standing as a symbol of steadfastness and resistance without compromise or retreat.

Every word of his speeches carried the trust of pure blood shed in the path of freedom, and every stance he took was a testament to loyalty for resistance.

He was not a transient leader in the journey of the nation, but rather a turning point in its history and a symbol for a phase that did not end with his martyrdom but began more firmly and powerfully.

The funeral of Nasrallah is not bidding farewell to a person but is the honoring of a man who has been embodied in the conscience and resilient spirit of the Ummah.

This ceremony, whose sound will reverberate in all Arab countries, is not just paying respect to this great figure, but is a message to the whole world that the flame of resistance will never go out and the blood of resistance commanders will serve to ensure the continuation of this path until certain victory.

The photos of Nasrallah, which were raised in all the public squares of Arab capitals, still linger before our eyes, especially the photo displayed at Al-Azhar Grand Mosque and the streets of Damascus. These photos have not been merely expressions of admiration for a moment, but rather reflections of the people’s conscience and the belief that there are individuals who stand fearlessly and resolutely against occupation.

The Islamic resistance, led by Hezbollah, entered a battle that shattered the Zionists’ hegemony and underscored that the time of concession is over and resistance alone will create equations of power and dignity.

Appearing in this way was like a beacon of hope in times of despair and proved that true strength lies not just in equipment, but in an unwavering will, in a determination that does not falter, and in a voice that refuses to be silenced despite all efforts to quiet it.

I will never forget how Arab nations from the ocean to the Persian Gulf awaited Sayed Hasan Nasrallah’s appearance on television, eager for his words that provided reassurance and renewed certainty, instilling confidence in the future. In the minds of millions, his words emphasized that resistance is not a choice but an inevitable destiny for free nations.

No Arab leader since Gamal Abdel Nasser has enjoyed such popular support and love. All nations deeply understand that true leaders are not made by position or title, but by their sacrifices. These leaders give dignity to their people because they embody their hopes and aspirations, and they guide them with steady steps through the darkest times.

Nasrallah was an exceptional leader with a keen vision and an iron will, a man who never compromised on even an inch of his country’s land and faced colonial powers without hesitation. Until the moment of his martyrdom, he remained faithful to this pledge and committed to the flag of resistance.

Arab nations, who loved him and had faith in his leadership, will bid farewell to him (in his funeral) as an everlasting leader today. He will remain in the nations’ conscience and will remain influential on the path of resistance.

Sayed Hassan Nasrallah was the first resistance leader who declared his full support for the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation and his support was not in words only but also in action and he sacrificed his life on the path of al-Quds.

The day of Nasrallah’s funeral is a testimony to the legacy of resistance and to his position in the conscience of Arab nations. Millions will attend his funeral to bid farewell to a man who was not defeated by the Zionist-American plots and remained faithful to Palestine, al-Quds and the Muslim Ummah until the last moment of his life.

Today, as we bid farewell to him, we feel the immense void he has left behind even more deeply. However, we are certain that his path will be that of the free people, and his pure blood will serve as a renewed inspiration to continue the journey towards freedom.

His martyrdom is not the end of the path but is the beginning of a more difficult and greater phase to reach the lofty goal of liberation of Palestine. Just as he was a manifestation of steadfastness and perseverance throughout his life, his martyrdom will also illuminate the path of resistance.

This Ummah will never forget someone who dedicated his life to their dignity and honor.
