IQNA – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf described former chief of Hezbollah, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, as a source of pride for the Muslim world and the resistance front.

He was speaking early on Sunday, before departing Tehran for Beirut to attend the funeral procession for Nasrallah and Sayed Hashem Safieddine, who were assassinated a few months ago by the Israeli regime.

“The hearts of all free-spirited humans beat in remembrance of these martyrs and in remembrance of Beirut,” he said.

“Undoubtedly, Martyr Nasrallah is the pride of the Islamic world, and the resistance front,” stressed Qalibaf who is heading a high-ranking Iranian delegation for Beirut.

He hoped that today’s funeral ceremony will also be a turning point in the greatness of the resistance front, the Islamic Ummah, and the people of Lebanon.

All awakened consciences and freedom-loving people of the world recognize that the unity of the Islamic Ummah and humanity in the struggle against the genocide of the Zionist regime, centered around Nasrallah, said the senior lawmaker.

Referring to his visit to Beirut some four months ago, he said, “At that time, on one side, we witnessed bloodshed, crimes, and genocide, and on the other side, the resistance of the people, the resistance of Hezbollah, the resistance of Hamas, and the resistance of the people of Gaza.”
