IQNA – The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas condemned the Israeli regime’s assassination of Salah al-Badrawil, stressing that with every martyr, the flame of resistance grows stronger.

Salah al-Bardawil, a Palestinian MP and member of the political bureau of Hamas, was martyred in an Israeli attack on March 22, 2025.

The Israeli regime’s military conducted fresh deadly airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, killing a total of 40 people, including al-Bardawil, a Palestinian MP and member of the political bureau of Hamas.

In a statement released on Sunday, Hamas said Bardawil was targeted in a "treacherous Zionist assassination" operation, while he was performing his night prayers on the 23rd night of the holy month of Ramadan.

Bardawil, it added, was killed alongside his wife in an Israeli aerial assault that targeted his tent in the al-Mawasi area, west of the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis.

The resistance group also hailed Bardawil as a "symbol of political, media, and national work," noting that he "never failed to perform his duties or ... jihad (endeavor for the sake of God)" aimed at promoting the Palestinian cause.

It further emphasized that the criminal regime will not weaken the Palestinians' resolve and steadfastness as "with every martyr, the flame of resistance grows stronger until the occupation is ended."

Meanwhile, medical sources announced that at least 40 Palestinians were killed and dozens were injured in the Israeli attacks on various areas of the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours.

Israel launched a genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, but it failed to achieve its declared objectives despite killing 49,747 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injuring more than 113,213 others in the besieged territory.

The occupying regime accepted Hamas’s longstanding negotiation terms under a three-phase Gaza truce, which began on January 19.

After two months, however, Israel unilaterally broke the ceasefire agreement and resumed its brutal Gaza onslaught.
