Moroccan software engineer Ibtihal Aboussad was dismissed by Microsoft after publicly protested the company’s support for the Israeli regime during its recent 50th anniversary celebration.
During a speech by Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman, Aboussad shouted, “How dare you celebrate when Microsoft is killing children,” as she approached the stage.
Aboussad was quickly escorted out by event staff and later fired, according to No Azure for Apartheid, a group of current and former Microsoft employees critical of the company’s ties to Israel.
In a post on X, the international organization Ansar al-Nabi censured Microsoft.
It urged all Muslim merchants and owners of large companies and institutions to open their doors to this esteemed lady and to give her a position in their companies that reflects her status.
"Let the bold stance of Aboussad serve as a lesson for generations, and embracing her be a tribute to the truth. Our message is clear: the Muslim Ummah does not abandon its children who choose the path of dignity.”
Another engineer, Vaniya Agrawal, also interrupted a panel featuring Microsoft founder Bill Gates, CEO Satya Nadella, and former CEO Steve Ballmer during the recent 50th anniversary celebration.
